Parrish Family: Charlotte Family Photographer

Last weekend I met up with Alana and her sweet family at Jetton Park.  These boys had so much energy, we had a blast!  I laughed so hard and really can't wait until we become a multi-child family!

A little getaway....

Recently, Isaac and I went home (East TN) so that we could drop Walker and Jonah off with our parents and enjoy some much needed alone time.  We went to Berry Springs Lodge in Sevierville and had an amazing time!  I don't think we even realized how much we needed this time together, to just be husband and wife instead of always being Mom and Dad.  This was the first time we spent a night together away from Jonah since he was born.  We definitely realized we need to do this way more often!  We ate in peace, slept in peace, laughed a ton and just enjoyed being together.  The lodge where we stayed was so nice and had tons of things to do.  While we did do the tourist thing, even though we're from there, we tried to spend ample time at the lodge to enjoy all that it had to offer (and what we had paid for)!  Here are a few photos from our little weekend away.  I didn't take that many because I'm always toting around a camera and I really needed time to relax and to soak it all in.  :)

I'm pretty sure this was the first fish I've ever caught in my life.  I also caught a Large Mouth Bass and a Blue Gill.  :)

 Sunrises are always my favorite!

He's reluctant to admit it, but this was the only fish Isaac caught... and he happened to catch it 3 times!

A self-timer attempt, not the best photo but it's the only one of both of us.

I met up with these guys a few weeks ago and we had a blast running around Freedom Park.  These guys definitely kept me on my toes!  Dwain- Thank you for choosing me to capture you and your boys playing together, I hope you love the result!

Easter

The feelings I have each year during Holy Week are indescribable.  Beginning with Palm Sunday into Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, Holy Saturday and Easter Sunday I have an overwhelming feeling of humbleness, gratefulness, and the real love Jesus Christ has for each of us.  I feel so unworthy of what He did on the cross.  It's just an incredible time for reflection and meditating on the truth.  For me, it's also a time for change.  A time to challenge myself to be all that God has envisioned me to be.  I know I was created for something more, but what is it?  I am on this journey and am committed to listening to Him whisper to my heart so that I can find out what He is calling me to do.

This Easter, something even more exciting happened.  Several weeks prior to Easter it was announced during one of our church services that our Pastor would be baptizing folks again this year on Easter Sunday.  On the way home that day Isaac told me he wanted to be baptized again.  He said he is ready to be made new again, his slate wiped clean, and to live the way God intends.  My heart overflowed with gratefulness.  So, on Easter I got to watch my precious husband be made new.  It was unbelievable to see the scores of others who had made the same decision.  I am so grateful for the way God is working in Isaac's and my heart and marriage.  Thank you to those who have encouraged us and supported us along the way.

Amazing Love

Conversation with Jonah on the way to the grocery store this morning which started by him seeing his school...

Jonah: I want to go to school.
Me: No, you're off today.
Jonah: Why? (yes, we're in the "why" phase)
Me: Because it's Good Friday
Jonah: Why?
Me: Because Jesus died for us.
Jonah: Oh. On the road?
Me: No, on the cross.
Jonah: Why?
Me: So we can go to Heaven.
Jonah: I want to go to Heaven.
Me: I hope you get to some day.
Jonah: Nooooo, I want to go NOW!
Me: No, you have to wait until you're really old.
Jonah: Oh, like you Mom, really old like you?
Me: [laughing] No, when you're a lot older than Mommy.
Jonah: Oh ok.  You wanna go with me Mommy (he asks this a lot too)?
Me: Yes. (what the heck do you say to THAT?)
Jonah: I don't want to go now Mom, I want you to stay with me.  Will you stay with me Mom?
Me: Of course Buddy

It's amazing how such a small person can melt your heart in the most perfect way!  So grateful for my sweet, sweet boy.

Carmichael Family: Charlotte Family Photographer

Last weekend the weather finally cooperated and I was able to photograph the Carmichaels.  Lisa and I have worked together for a number of years but I had never met her husband or her beautiful children.  I loved watching her interact with her family since that is a side of co-workers you rarely have the opportunity to see.  I had so much fun chasing their son around and just watching their family interact.  Lisa and David, thanks again for having me in your beautiful home.  I hope these photos will fill your walls and your heart for years to come.

Much Love,
Cara
